This project will develop an open source software solution which will help monitor academic progress within the context of pervasive, coordinated and centralised ICT services. It will support both the process of academic planning (assisting senior managers and course teams to review performance of courses and modules and recommend changes accordingly) and crucially, from a student perspective, it will provide a mechanism by which the achievement of learning outcomes can be monitored and recorded, thus assisting individuals in planning their educational pathway.

Progress is an important indicator of quality both at the individual and institutional level. The proposed tool will capture learning outcomes at three levels - individual student, academic programme and institutional, providing a coherent and robust solution which is integrated with existing institutional services and systems. It will improve information workflows and support the strategic direction of the institution by providing course teams and individual academics with essential information to aid coherent and consistent decision making and assist regulation, audit and review.
